OBITUARY

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Campbell Funeral Home for Joseph Coleman. He was a patient at the Hand hospital from March 17, 1947 until Jan. 17, 1950, and since that time has been cared for in the C.J. Miller home.

Joseph Ernest Coleman, the second of six sons of John and Mary Coleman, was born on the Coleman homestead east of Farragut, July 4, 1868 and passed away May 27, 1950, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 24 days. He was educated in the country school, Western Normal College in Shenandoah and Peru State College and taught in the rural schools for a number of years. He has been a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge for fifty nine years.

In 1893 he was united in marriage to Melissa Jacquette; in 1903 he was married to Evelyn Dunham and in 1916 he was married to Cecile Kalb, who survives him. He is also survived by eighteen nieces and nephews. He lived on the farm until 1931 and then moved to Farragut.

Rev. Horace Ireland was in charge of funeral services. Burial was made in the Farragut cemetery.
