OBITUARY

CLARA ZACH

Clara P. Zach was born to Lee and Amy (Halferty) Keran on April 14, 1900, at Kahoka, Missouri. She died January 5, 1998, at the Sidney Health Center after an extended illness. Clara moved with her parents as a child to Percival, Iowa, where she attended grade school, and then attended high school at Hamburg, graduating in 1918. After graduation, she was a teacher at High Creek School east of Hamburg.

On Dec 26, 1919, she was married to Gilbert Zach of Hamburg. To this union two sons were born, Robert K. and Leon C. Most of her lifetime was spent in the Riverton area. She had been a member of the Sunshine Circle Club, Merry Mixers Club, World War I Auxiliary and was a charter member of the Sidney American Legion Auxiliary Unit 128.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert in 1975; her parents, sister Ruth Ricketts of Percival; twin brother, Claude Keran of Nebraska City; brother Lloyd Keran of Omaha, and brother Pierre Keran of Nebraska City.

She is survived by sons Robert Zach of Riverton, Leon Zach of Sun City, Arizona; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held January 9 at the Shull Funeral Home in Riverton. Interment was in Utterback Cemetery.
