1916 - 2001

Hazel May (Kingery) Rumery Adams, 84, Rock Port, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at a health-care center in Rock Port.

Born in Rock Port on May 1, 1916, Mrs. Adams, a former homemaker, also had lived in Hamburg, Iowa.

On Oct. 26, 1940, she married Suel F. Rumery in Maryville, Mo. He died. Then on Jan. 17, 1979, she married Earl Adams in Rock Port. He also died.

Mrs. Adams also was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Anna Kingery; four brothers, Melvin, Tom, Richard and Earl Kingery; and two sisters, Gladys and Ethel.

Surviving: three sons, Larry Rumery, Fairfax, Mo., Gary Rumery, Las Vegas, and Jerry Rumery, Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Sally A. Baker, Central Point, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service and burial: 11 a.m. Thursday, Mount Zion Cemetery, Hamburg. Visitation: after 2 p.m. today, at the Rash-Gude Funeral Home, Hamburg, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight. Memorials will be made to the Rock Port Christian Church.
