Relatives and Friends here received word of the death of a former resident, Mrs. Kimber Smith, 86, on Nov. 29 at a hospital at Broken Bow, NE.

She lived in Nebraska City and had gone to Dunning NE, for Thanksgiving with a daughter. They were en route to her home when she became ill and died. She was the former Rose Cowles, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Cowles of Riverton, and formerly lived at Hamburg also. She is survived by sons, Walter of California, Gerald of Hamburg, Carol of Bellevue, daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Smith, South Dakota, Mrs. Leadora Milburn, Papillion, and Mrs. Coretta Jo Whitten, Dunning, NE., grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wm. Casey of Riverton is a granddaughter. Funeral rites were Wed., Dec. 4 at the Petersen Mortuary, Nebraska City with burial in Mr. Zion cemetery, south of Riverton. Mr. Smith died several years ago.
