Lucy Jane Bosworth
1824 - 1895

Lucy Jane (Warren) Bosworth was born in Elizabethtown, Essex Co. NY on 18 May 1824.  She united with the Congregational Church at an early age.

She married Franklin Bosworth on 8 Nov 1840 in Bloomfield OH and removed with her husband to Gustavas where the two older children were born.  In the fall of 1845, the family removed to Clay IA, where the Congregational Church of Clay was organized in their house, Mr. Bosworth being chosen as one of the two Deacons.

After 9 years, another move was made to Madison Co IA, and in 1864, the family came to Tabor and united with the Congregational Church.  Mr. Bosworth was a deacon of the church at the time of his death in 1879.  Mrs. Bosworth was also a member of the Tabor Congregational Church until on Sunday 8 Sep 1895, she died.  3 sons and 2 daughters mourn her departure, and 3 children are "on the other side."

A few years ago Leland Smith of Tabor, Fremont County, Iowa, abstracted obituaries from the Tabor Beacon newspaper. Tabor is on the county line between Mills and Fremont County, therefore the paper printed obituaries from both counties. These were later microfilmed by the LDS Church on microfilm #1491976.
