At the age of 9 years she was left without a mother, after which she made her home with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keyser, until 1872 when she was married to Vincent W. Lord. To this union were born seven sons and one daughter, all but one of whom survive: Frank, Lewis and Emmet of Percival; Sturgis Lord and Mrs. Harry Gibson of Wakonda, South Dakota; and Charley of Meekling, South Dakota. Mrs. Carl Snyder of Sidney is a granddaughter. After the death of her husband in 1916 she made her home with her son, George, until his death last June. The last three months she had spent at the home of her daughter in South Dakota, where death claimed her.
Mrs. Lord was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and a faithful worker while her health would permit. She died in the faith, full of good deeds and untiring in the interests of others.
The body was returned to her old home at Percival, from which place funeral services were held Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. G.S. Nichols of Sidney.
