"CALLED BEYOND". -- Hattie May Zortman was born on October 22, 1884 in Fremont county and passed away May 1, 1936, in the Hamburg hospital following a serious operation. Most of her life was spent in Iowa except one year in Nebraska and a few years in Illinois.

October 12, 1904 she was united in marriage to A. S. Boldra at Onawa. She is survived by her husband and eleven children, one child, Leah, having preceded her in death. The living are:
Mrs. Pearl Sherman, Smithland, Iowa; Dwight of Wahkon, Minnesota; Paul at Mapleton; Mrs. Eula McGee of Onawa; Mamie, Teddy, Wayne, Robert, Marjorie, Seth and Emma Lou at home; her mother, Mrs. Amacetta Zortman of Smithland; two sisters, Mrs. Lena Babb of Palisade, Minnesota, and Mrs. Alma Cooke of Smithland; a brother, H. O. Zortman of Wahkon, Minnesota, and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Boldra was a good wife and a true christian mother, her main interest in life being her home and family. Much of her time was spent working for the upbuilding of the community and the Sunday school of which she was a member and a constant attendant except when illness kept her at home.

Funeral services were held a the brick church at Knox Sunday afternoon conducted by a minister from the Faith Home at Tabor. Burial was at Grandview.
