Entered into eternal rest Friday, Sept. 28, 1975

MARY E. CHAPMAN SERVICES MONDAY

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 29, for Mary Elizabeth Chapman, 88, who died Sept. 26 at Grape Community hospital in Hamburg. The Rev. William Morehouse officiated. Crawford Funeral Home was in charge of the service.

Pallbearers were Morgan Chapman, Dean Gardner, Gilbert Benson, Darrell Kilpatrick, Quentin Gardner and William Penn.

Mrs. Sam Hummel and Mrs Robert Reed were in charge of flowers.

Organist Mrs Nick Carter accompanied soloist Verna Heiliger who sand “Beyond the Sunset” and “Going Home”.

Mrs. Ruth Jorgenson was in charge of the memory book.

Interment was in Sidney Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth Chapman was born November 7, 1886 at Crab Orchard, Nebraska and passed away at Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg, Iowa on September 26, 1975.

She was the daughter of Joseph and Mahala Kuhns. She attended school in the rural Sidney area and was a life long resident there. She was a member of the Knox, Iowa Methodist Church and Choir.

She was united in marriage to Quentin U. Chapman on April 4, 1905. To this union were born two sons Marion and Quentin and three daughters Marie, Verna and Betty.

Mrs Chapman was preceded in death by her husband Quentin, her daughter Verna Ruth; seven brothers and fours sisters; and one grandson.

She is survived by Marion and Quentin Chapman of Sidney; Mrs Pearl (Marie) Gardner of Sidney and Mrs Thomas (Betty) Slaybaugh of Albuquerque, New Mex. one sister, Mrs. Minnie Gearhart of Thurman, Iowa, ten grandchildren, eleven great grand children, and a number of nieces and nephews.
