After a lengthy illness, John Morris Atkinson of this city, formerly of Milk River, died at a local hospital early Sunday morning at the age of 75. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel K. Atkinson of Hamburg, Iowa.
The deceased is survived by his widow; one sister, Mrs. Robert Carse of Oakland, Iowa, and three brothers-in-law, John Barrows of Lethbridge, S. O. Barrows of Cochrane. and George C. Barrows of Milk River.
Born near Hamburg, Iowa, deceased came to Canada in 1905 residing in Wayburn, Sask., He homesteaded at Milk River from 1908 to 1924, where he was a faithful member of Bethel Evangelical church. He moved to Lethbridge, Nov. 11, 1924 where he had lived until his death, Mr. Atkinson was a member of Knox church and after amalgamation became a faithful member of Southminster United church.
Funeral services will be held at Martin Bros.' chapel on Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock and burial will take place in the family plot at Morse, Sask. Martin Bros. in charge of funeral arrangements.
