DORRIS TRULLINGER
1904-2007

Dorris Elizabeth (Jordan) Trullinger, 103, of Corning, and formerly of Farragut, was born Oct 12, 1904 near Sidney, the daughter of Loran and Sarah (Egloff) Jordan. She passed away on Sunday morning, Nov 25, 2007, at the Alegent Health Mercy Hospital in Corning.

Dorris was raised on the family farm west of Sidney. After her graduation from Sidney High School, she received her Normal Training and taught country school at Hazal Dell for three years. On June 30, 1836, she united in mariage to Isaac Trullinger in Clarinda. The couple made their home in Farragut, and were blessed with three children: Leonard, Faye and Jerry.

Dorris worked for the Farragut Post Office for 33 years, most of that time as Post Master. She retired in 1968. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ and spent many years teaching Sunday School and was active and held offices in all the women's groups for 75 years until her health failed. Dorris loved to travel and was a very avid reader. She loved to knit, crochet, quilt, and do embroidery. She has made her home with her daughter Faye and her husband Jim Bredensteiner for the past 13 years.

The devotion that Dorris gave to her family, church, and community service has inspired all of her family. They are all grateful for the values she has passed down to the future generations.

Dorris was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1956, three brothers, five sisters, two sons, and three grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, seven grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov 30, 2007 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Farragut. Burial was in the Farragut Cemetery at Farragut. Memorials were suggested to the Congregational United Church of Christ or Leisure Hall, both of Farragut.
