Rites For Mrs. Ira Glasgow Held Here On Saturday

Mary Ann Cahill, better known to her friends as "Mollie," eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cahill, was born February 27, 1879, at Clonmellon, County Meath, Ireland. She departed this life March 30, 1961 at the Hamburg hospital at the age of 82 years, 1 month, 2 days.

She was married to Ira Glasgow at Papillion, Neb., on April 9, 1901. To this union 11 children were born: Presley of Sidney, Martha Ann Bills of Lee's Summit, Mo., Steve of Hawk Springs, Wyo., Gene of Thurman, Walter of Portland, Ore., Grace Racine of Coin, Hazel Glade of Riverton, Wyo., Mary Rist of Eureka, Calif., Howard of Sidney, Floyd of Sidney, Myrtle Christenson of Bellevue, Nebraska.

She came to the United States at the age of 19. Mr. and Mrs. Glasgow spent their first forty years in Nebraska, then moved to Iowa and spent the remainder of this lives in and around Sidney.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira; her mother and father; three brothers; and two grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her 11 children, 32 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and three brothers and one sister in Ireland.

Mollie was a devoted wife and loving mother. She spent her entire life doing for others and trying to make them happy in her good old Irish way.

Funeral services were held at the Sidney Presbyterian Church on April 1, 1961, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Loren Schroeder officiating.

Casketbearers were: Vurl Cloyd, John Shere, Don Chambers, John Pierce, Clarence Ryan and Murl Glasgow.

Mrs. Richard Maher and Mrs. Dave West sang "In The Garden" and "Beyond The Sunset", accompanied by Mrs. G. O. Nichols.

Flowers were cared for by Mrs. Wilma Acord, Mrs. Don Chambers and Mrs. Walter Ranck.

Mrs. John Pierce had charge of the memory book.

Interment was in the Chambers cemetery.
