Services for Gay Wilson Eyler, 85, of Bartlett were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Crawford-Reeves funeral home with Priest Wilbur Mattes officiating, assisted by Elder Frank Willey.

Ron Richie was the soloist, and Mrs. Donald Douglass the organist. Pallbearers were O’Dell Kephart, Jess Van Horn, Vern Stattler, Darwin Grindle, Dave Richardson and Gerald Richardson. In charge of the flowers were Misses Iva and Lora Harris and Mrs. Wayne Buckingham. Mrs. Neva Harless was in charge of the memorial book.

Interment was in the Thurman cemetery.

Gay Wilson Eyler, son of William and Julia Eyler, was born Dec. 29, 1882 in Syracuse, Nebr. He died Dec. 7 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Nebraska City, at the age of 85.

At an early age his parents moved to Bartlett, where Gay spent the remaining years of his life.

He was united in marriage to Silva Porter July 2, 1906 at Glenwood. To this union were born four sons and two daughters, two sons preceding him in death.

He was a lifetime member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He is survived by his wife, Silva; daughters, Mrs. Jay Gragg (Viva) of Percival, and Mrs. Ruby Fenderson of Omaha, and sons, Gayle of Omaha, and Keith of San Diego, Calif., one brother, Daniel of Bartlett.
