JOBE AND JENKINS FAMILY REUNION

September 6, 1928

A very enjoyable reunion of the Jobe and Jenkins families was held at the Glenwood Lake park Sunday, September 2.

Both of these families were early day settlers of Fremont County. This meeting began at noon with a bounteous picnic dinner of which the following persons partook; Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Egloff, Mrs. C.E. Verbects and daughter Ruth, Mrs. Frank Birkby, Mrs. Opal Keyser and daughter Norma Joe, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Birkby and children, Ruth Ella, Bobby and Jack, all of Sidney; Mr. and Mrs. Will Keanan and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas of Hamburg, Is.; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Purcell and Mrs. Bert Inman and children, Merrritt and Merle of Council Bluffs, Miss Myrtle Jobe of Norfolk, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Valentine and children Arminta and Vincent, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Valetine, Mrs. Bert Brower and children, Mrs. Bert Brower and children, Maxine, Rex and Lloyd, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mesersmith and children Merritt and Carla Mae and Mrs. Russell Lloyd, all of Red Oak; Mr. and Mrs. Bulis Karr of Pacific Junction; Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Ruse and children, Myron, Edith, Edwin, Robert and Helen, Mrs. Josephine McClain and son Ralph and Opal, Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Pickerill and son, Marold and daughter, Florence and John Cheyney, all of Glenwood.

Mrs. C.E. Verbeck was chosen president for next year with Sidney as the meeting place as that is the home county of both families.
