Popejoy - Mrs. Alice Powers Decker died at her home in Popejoy November 4 after a brief illness. She came with her husband to Iowa in 1885 settling near Williams and had since then lived in that vicinity and in Popejoy. She is survived by her six children.

A full obituary for Alice can be found in the 14 Nov 1924 (page 8) edition of the Hardin County Citizen, but is difficult to read. It states she was married to J. M. Decker in June 1869. He died 02 Oct 1902. They had six children. At the time of her death Harry D. Decker lived in Popejoy; John B. Decker had died in infancy; William B. Decker lived in Mitchell, South Dakota; Edwin L. Decker lived in St. Paul, Minnesota; Emily C. Decker Wilder in Grand Meadows, Minnesota and Orpha Decker White lived in Waterloo. Her parents were W. R. & Emily Powers.
