VERNON W. PAYTON
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a. m. tomorrow at O'Keefe and Towne funeral home for Vernon W. Payton, 65, who died Friday in Detention hospital of complications following a stroke.
The Rev. E. L. Stuempfig, pastor of Concordia Lutheran church, will officiate and burial will be in St. John's Lutheran cemetery, Coulter.
Mr. Payton was born Sept. 24, 1894, in Sumner, the son of Edward and Elsie Christiansen Payton. He had been a resident of Waterloo for the past 35 years and a patient at the hospital since 1950.
He was a painter by trade He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include three sons, Victor, 358 California St.; Bill. Washburn, and Verald, stationed with the Army in Germany, and a sister, Mrs. Ed Butts, Gary, Ind.CLIPPED FROM
