Jensen Raymond F. 1920-1996

CEDAR FALLS--Raymond F. Jensen, 76, formerly of Sterling, 111., died Monday, April 15, at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes. He was born Jan. 26, 1920, in Latimer, son of Henry and Lena Rodemeyer Jensen. He married Delores M. Rasmussen on Aug. 23, 1942, in Colorado Springs, Colo. She died June 17, 1994. Mr. Jensen served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II. He graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1949 and received a master's degree from Drake University in 1956. He taught for 14 years in various public schools in Iowa and 17 years at Sterling High School. Survived by a daughter, Judy Marchese of Cedar Falls; a son, Robert of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren and a great-grandson; a sister, Henrietta Eichler of Sacramento, Calif.; and a brother, Harold Meyer of Latimer. Preceded in death by: two brothers, Howard and Ralph Jensen. Services: 1 1 a.m. Thursday at Melvin-Schilling Funeral Home, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until services Thursday at the funeral home. There also will be visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Hampton, with graveside services at 10:30 a.m. in the church cemetery. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
