Referring to the death of John H. Murphy of Hampton, the Chronicle of that city states his remains were interred in the cemetery at Dumont. He died in a Mason City hospital after a lengthy illness. Mr. Murphy was born near Geneva in 1859 grew to manhood there; in later years he lived in Nebraska and also in Canada. Surviving are his widow, four sons, Frank Murphy and Delos Murphy, both of Hampton; George Murphy, of Hansell; John Murphy of Dumont; by three daughters, Mrs. Leslie E. Minier, of Aredale; Mrs. John Laudner, of Dumont; Mrs. Albert Ahrens, of Sheffield; and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Underkoffler, of Bloomfield, Iowa.
