Floyd C. Oleson, of rural Latimer, passed away Friday afternoon at Mercy hospital in Mason City, Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, July 6, at St. John’s Lutheran church, with rev. Benjamin Davis officiating at the last rites. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Sietsema-Pruyn funeral home was in charge of the arrangements.
He was born September 8, 1911 at Foster, Iowa, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nels Oleson. He was married to Thyra Hansen, May 26, 1939 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
Mr. Oleson is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mary, of Latimer, three sons, Arlyn, of Latimer, Robert of Guthrie Center, and Donald, of Waverly, and three sisters, Mrs. Leona Gilbreath, of Walnut Grove, Missouri, Mrs. Earl Brees, of Downs, Kansas, and Mrs. William Bader, of Osborne, Kansas, and one grandchild.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church and a member of the church council.
