Nels Peter Hansen of Hampton, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 5, at home after a lingering illness.

Funeral services were held Monday Dec. 8, at St. John's Lutheran Church, southwest of Hampton, with the Rev, Milton Eklund officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Green & Sietsema Funeral Home was in charge.

He was born on May 30, 1895 in Denmark, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lars Hansen. At an early age he came to the United States. During World War I he served with the U.S. Army.

On Feb. 26, 1920, he was married to Sara Kibsgaard at Coulter. They farmed until retiring in 1947. he was a member of the Hansen-Have Post, American Legion, and St. John's Lutheran Church.
Mr. Hansen is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Evelyn Sharp of Hampton, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother, three sisters and one grandson.
