John Lund, 69, of Iowa FALLS, DIED Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Coulter, Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery in Coulter.

Visitation will be from noon to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Linn's Funeral Home in Iowa Falls, where the family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Johannas "John" Lund was born Dec. 7, 1930, at Hampton, the son of Frederik and Kathrine (Brinks) Lund. He attended rural Hampton country schools.

On Sept. 10, 1950, he married Maxine Butterwick at the First United Methodist Church at Iowa falls. He farmed west of Hampton until 1967, then operated the Lund Equipment implement dealership at Waverly until 1983, when he moved to Iowa Falls. He then sold real estate for Mid-Iowa Real Estate and the Jennings Real Estate at Iowa Falls.

He was a member of Meadow Hills Golf Club, where he was a past member of the board of directors; a member and president of the Iowa Falls Senior Citizens center; AMVETS at Waverly; the Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post #188 in Iowa falls; and St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Waverly.

He was also a member of the Masons, Shrine, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks.

Living family members include his wife of 50 years, Maxine Lund of Iowa Falls; two daughters; Linda (Tim) Mueller of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Phyllis Lund of Waverly; two sons; John R. Lund of Waverly and Roger (Kathy) Lund of Waverly; and one sister, Martha Miller of Hampton. There are eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents,; an infant daughter, Nancy Lund; and three sisters; Lydia Hansen, Laura Ryan, and Edith Holly.
Memorials may be directed to the family, in care of his wife, Maxine Lund, at 108 Madison Avenue, Iowa Falls.
