Maxine Lund, 80, of Waverly, Iowa, and formerly of Iowa Falls, passed away on Friday morning April 27, 2012, at the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly.

Maxine was born on January 14, 1932, the daughter of Reka and Fredrick Butterwick in Iowa Falls, Iowa. She attended school at Iowa Falls and graduated in 1950.

On September 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to John Lund at the Iowa Falls United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Waverly where they raised their family.

In 1983, they moved back to Iowa Falls. Maxine worked at K-Mart in Iowa Falls, and then in the pro shop at Meadows Hills Golf Course, in Iowa Falls. More than anything, Maxine enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors are her children, Linda (Tim) Mueller of Yukon, Oklahoma, John R (Deb) Lund of Waverly, Roger (Kathy) Lund of Waverly, and Phyllis Lund of Charles City; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur (Jolaine) Butterwick of Sun City, California.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, John Lund, her parents, Reka and Fredrick Butterwick, brother Dale Butterwick, and infant daughter Nancy Kay.

Private graveside services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11:00a.m. at St. John's Church Cemetery, rural Coulter, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the family. Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly is assisting the family.
