Fred Christensen
Services for Fred Christensen, 89, Coulter, were held Friday, Oct. 20 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Hampton. The Rev. Tom Hungerford officiatted. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Christensen died Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines.He was born April 13, 1900, in Coulter, to Jacob and Kjesten (Jorgensen) Christensen.
On July 27, 1933, he married Ethel Buge in Franklin County. He was a trucker and worked at the Coulter Creamery. Mr. Christensen lived in Coulter all his life until moving to Des Moines four years ago.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran church.
Survivors include one son, Donald, Des Moines; three daughters; Mrs. Albert(Jewel) Snook, Indianola; Alice Piiohia, Honolulu, Hawaii; and Mrs. Homer (Mary) Bilger, Omaha, Neb.; three grandchilldren; one sister, Eleanora Kelson, Coulter, and one brother, Bill, of Thornton.He was proceded in death by his wife in 1985, two brothers and two sisters.
Seitsema-Vogel Funeral Home, Latimer, was in charge of arrangments.
