Julia Nelson, 79, of Hampton, Iowa, passed away August 22, 2006, at the Franklin General hospital, Hampton, Iowa.

She was born March 11, 1927, in Hamilton Township, Franklin County, Iowa, to Alfred and Dagny (Jorgenson) Kibsgaard.

Julia graduated from Dows High School and attended grand View College in Des Moines.

She married Randall Nelson on November 16, 1947, at St John's Lutheran Church, rural Hampton. Julia was a homemaker. She was a member of St John's Lutheran church and St John's Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, Morgan Township Study Club and a member of Farm Bureau. She enjoyed quilting, their card club, was on 4-H Board, and enjoyed wintering in Arizona. Julia enjoyed music and singing in the Church Choir

Julia is survived by her husband Randall Nelson of Hampton, daughter Karen Nelson of Portland, Oregon, son Roger & wife Phyllis Nelson of Ruthven, son Gary & wife Carla Nelson of Sheffield, daughter Nancy Nelson of Chicago, Ill, granddaughter Dana & husband Wyatt Zoske & great grandson Isaac Zoske of Huxley, grandson Peter Nelson of Waukee, grandson Adam & wife Erin Nelson of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
