Ove Christian Heilskov, 84, of Hampton, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2008, at Franklin General Hospital Nursing Facility in Hampton.

Funeral services were held Saturday Dec. 20, at St Johns Lutheran Church rural Hampton, with burial in the church cemetery. Pastor Dave Bernhardt officiated. Sietsema-Vogel Funeral Home in Hampton was in charge of arrangements.

Ove was born March 6, 1924, in rural Hampton to Soren and Kathrine (Sondergaard) Heilskov and was very proud of his Danish heritage. He graduated from Hampton high School in 1941 and served his country in the United States Air Force during WW II.

Ove married Ingrid Christensen on July 28, 1946, in Kimballtown, and they made their home in rural Hampton where they farmed until they retired in 1995.

Among Ove's many hobbies were bowling, golfing, playing cards, but most important was spending time with friends and family. Ove was a member of St Johns Lutheran Church, American Legion and Hampton Lions Club.

Living family members include his wife of 62 years, Ingrid Heiskov, of Hampton; daughter Judy (Zane) Juncker of Austin, Minn.; son James (Bert) Heiskov of Hampton; son terry (Marsha) Heilskov of Hampton; daughter Kathy (Davd) Kakacek of Buffalo Center; brother Holger (Mary) Heilskov of Hampton; brother Verner (Mary) Heilskov of Hampton; brother Robert (Phyllis) Heilskov of Hampton; grandchildren; Corey (Greg) Dombrowski, Tracy (Tim) King, Heather (Shawn) Murphy, Tammy Juncker, Troy (Ginger) Kakacek, Nichole Heilskov, Matt (Vanessa) Juncker, Holly (JAY) Kitzman, and Melinda (ROB) Price, and great grandchildren; Caitlin, Halie, Abigayle, AnnMarie, Avery, Carter, Cameron, Ella, Madeline, Theodore, Alexandria, Connor, Caleigh, Emily, Landen, Tristan, Samuel, Jacob, and Samantha.

He was proceeded in death by his parents.
