Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11, at the methodist Church in Geneva for Tom F. Schear of Geneva, who passed away Monday, June 8,at the Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, where he had been a patient for two days. The Rev. E. Wayne Hilmer officiated at the services with burial in Lindenwood cemetery in Geneva. Military rites were conducted at the cemetery.

Mr. Schear, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Schear, was born November 16, 1896 in Franklin County. He had lived his entire life in and around Geneva.

On September 9, 1920 he was married to Lourena I. Becker in Hampton and to this union five children were born.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Evanel (Leola) Johansen of Geneva, Mrs. Kenneth (Barbara) Campbell, Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; two sons, Dallas of Alexander and Donald of Hampton; ten grandchildren; one brother, Merle Schear of Dexter, Minnesota; three sisters, Miss Emma Schear of Mason City, Mrs. Letha Lee of Chicago and Mrs. Lloyd Bare of Sheffield.

He was preceded in death by his wife on January 19, 1963, one son and his parents.

Mr. Schear was a member of the Methodist Church in Geneva, a veteran of World War I and was a member of the American Legion.
