A sad accident resulting in the death of Richard Bray, of Chapin, occurred on Wednesday, p.m. shortly after 3 o'clock at the northwest corner of town.
Behind a spirited team of ponies, Richard and Jas. Bray and Orrin Jay started out of town with the team on the run. The three men were all seated in one seat, the team heading to the west road when Richard, who was driving, gave them a sudden pull to the north and in making it the men were all thrown out and Richard hit in such a way as to cause his neck to be broken and he only lived a few minutes.
He leaves a wife and nine children to mourn his untimely end. The funeral occurred Saturday and remains taken to Hampton for interment.
