Funeral services for Judge Sherwood A. Clock, 73 of Hampton, who died at a hospital at Rochester, Minn., will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, with burial in the Hampton cemetery. The Rev. Ralph A. Baker is pastor. Death followed two major operations. He had been at the hospital since Nov. 6.

Judge Clock was born at Geneva Aug. 2, 1879, son of H.O. and Emily Clock. He was graduated from the University of Illinois college of law in 1900 and he practiced law at Hampton until he became a judge.

Mr. Clock was married to Fannie Nobles in 1902. She survives with two daughters, Mrs. Richard Moore of Boise, Ida. and Mrs. Robert Coonley of Wheaton, Ill., also two grandchildren.

Judge Clock had served 30 years on the bench of Iowa's eleventh judicial district, including Franklin, Boone, Story, Hamilton, Hardin, Webster and Wright counties.

A veteran of World War I, Judge Clock served two terms as Franklin County attorney prior to becoming a judge in the 11th judicial district.

Sherwood A. Clock, attorney and jurist, died at Rochester, Minnesota, November 29, 1952; born August 2, 1879, at Geneva, Iowa; attended high school at Bloomington, Illinois, and received his law degree from the University of Illinois; served in World War I, two terms as county attorney of Franklin county, Iowa, prior to becoming judge of the Eleventh judicial district, serving in that capacity for thirty years; survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Robert A. Coonley of Wheaton, Illinois, and Mrs. Richard Moore of Boise, Idaho, and four grandchildren.
