Hampton - Miss Jennie Argent, 59, died at her home in the Gillett apartments Tuesday after a long illness with heart trouble. Jane Crawford Argent, daughter of Thomas F. and Elizabeth Argent, was born in Geneva township, Franklin county, Oct. 8, 1876.

She taught in the rural schools of the county and then took nurse's training, being graduated from St. Luke's hospital at Cedar Rapids in 1912. She practiced her profession in this community until about 10 years ago when she went to Mary Greeley hospital at Ames, remaining until her health failed in May, 1935. She returned to Hampton last December.

Surviving are one sister, Miss Nanette Argent of Hampton, with whom she made her home. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon with the Rev. W.C. Cleworth, pastor of the Methodist church, in charge, and burial was at Hampton.
