TWYLA MARIE ROSKUP

GREENE, IOWA — Funeral services for Twyla Marie Roskup, 63, of 115 N. Fifth St., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with the Monsignor Walter Brunkan officiating.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Reid's Funeral Chapel, where there will be a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m.

Twyla Marie Losee was born April 19, 1935, in rural Rockford, Floyd County, a daughter of Bernard Hiram and Gertrude Louise (Golly) Losee, and died Friday (Oct. 23, 1998) at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She received her education in the Rockford public schools, graduating in 1954.

She was united in marriage to Edward J. Roskup on June 30, 1956, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City. They made their home at 1308 E. Bloomington in Iowa City, where they lived for 26 years. She was a faithful member at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Iowa City, and was a member of the guild there.

In September, 1991, they moved to Greene, where she became a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Twyla will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed making baby quilts, going for walks with the grandchildren, teaching first communion at home, and especially for the "I Love You Hugs." Twyla believed that it was not important what she did outside her home, it was what she did at home with her family that mattered.

Living family members include her loving husband, Edward Roskup of Greene; one daughter, Theresa Marie Van Orden of Greene; one son, Edward Joseph Jr. and his wife, Margaret Roskup, of Iowa City; three grandchildren, Edward J. "E.J." Roskup III of Iowa City and Billy Van Orden and Karitta Rae Van Orden, both of Greene; and three sisters, Donna Faye Jacobsen of Nora Springs, Beverly Lyla Montgomery of Greene and Louise Arlene Wagner of Nashua.

She was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Neil, on Dec. 19, 1969; parents; and four brothers: Paul, Raymond, Burton and Bernard Losee Jr.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may direct memorials to the Twyla Marie Roskup Memorial Fund in care of the family.

Reids Funeral Chapel.
