MRS. JULIUS PASCHKE CALLED.
Mother Goes to Last Long Sleep on Saturday, Sept. 19—Funeral Tuesday. Burial at Charles City.
Mother has been called home. Her prayers have been granted and she reached the peaceful close of a life of service and usefulness Saturday September 19, 1925.
The deceased has often felt lonely since her life companion was taken from her. Her bible has been a daily comfort.
Mrs. Julius Paschke (Katherine Jorges) was born in Than, Germany, April 15, 1842. When three days old she was baptized in the Lutheran faith, brought up by Christian parents and at the age of fourteen renewed this faith by confirmation.
At the age of eighteen she came with her widowed mother and brothers and sisters to America to make her home. They settled in Wisconsin where she was married Sept 26, 1862 to Julius Paschke. Soon after her husband entered the Civil war. At the close of the war, when her husband returned home, they moved to Iowa, locating on a farm in Pleasant Grove Township. Later they went to Charles City, and in 1880 she came with her husband and five children to Nashua, where she spent the remaining years of her life.
Her husband and a son and daughter have preceded her in death.
The children who mourn the departure of a kind and loving mother are Emil L. Paschke of Nashua, Mrs. Emma Freeman of Waterloo, and Mrs. Theckla Ward of Nashua. Also four grand children and one great-granddaughter. Two brothers, Nicholas and Casper Jorges of Elwood, Neb., also survive.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church at 1 p. m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, Rev. Albert Guetzlaff in charge, and the body was laid to rest in Riverside cemetery at Charles City. By the side of those gone before.
Although her presence in the family circle will be sadly missed, sweet memories of a mother will continue to live on.Source Unknown – probably local newspaper
