Is Killed in Auto Accident
Irvin Idler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Idler of the Bassett community, was killed Tuesday of last week in an automobile accident near Philip, S. D.
Mr. Idler was driving a truck when an approaching car’s lights suddenly failed, and the machine crashed into the truck. Mr. Idler sustained a broken neck and collar bone, caved in ribs, and his right arm was broken in four places. Another party in the truck with him was uninjured, but the passengers in the auto that struck them were burned to death when the machine caught on fire.
Funeral services for Mr. Idler were held at the Hauser Funeral home in Charles City Saturday afternoon, Rev. G. A. Hess officiating. Burial was in Riverside cemetery at Charles City—Bassett Corres.Source Unknown – probably local newspaper
