Sad Death at Charles City.
CHARLES CITY, Sept. 4.—Yesterday morning at an early hour a boat was seen drifting down the river with some person apparently asleep in the bottom. Mr. Scott, who had seen the boat, secured another boat and started out to investigate. He was horrified to find that his own son, Clyde, about 22 years of age, was the dead occupant of the boat. He was a young man of excellent character and well liked by all. Death was due to enlargement of the heart.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born in 1871 and died Sept. 1, 1895. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery.
