Died in his Bed.
J. S. Root, a very prominent and quite wealthy citizen of Charles City, was found dead in bed last Thursday morning. Mr. Root was ex-postmaster. He was in his usual health and paralysis of the heart is assigned as the cause of his death.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Oct. 14, 1827 and died March 3, 1898. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery.
