Died of Lockjaw.
Charles City Intelligencer--. Clara, the little thirteen year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peck, died Friday morning of lockjaw. The little girl had been vaccinated and scratched the scab on her arm and then went to playing in a manure pile after which she washed her hands and arms in the same water. It is claimed that the germs from the manure were scattered through her system through the vaccinated arm. Dr. Niemeck says lockjaw was the direct result of a wound under the finger nail and was not due to vaccination.
