James Arthur Waechter, the son of Jack and Marilyn (Marpel) Waechter, was born October 7, 1963 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He received his education in Cheyenne, graduating from East High. After graduation, Jim attended trade school and received his HVAC license.

Jim worked in HVAC, in one manner or another, for his entire life. He also worked as an apartment maintenance supervisor throughout the Phoenix area for a few years and at Winnebago in Charles City for about one year.

Jim was united in marriage to Renée Huffman on June 27, 1987. They made their home in Arizona for almost two years before moving to Charles City. This union was blessed with two sons: Wesley and Kyle.

Jim enjoyed riding dirt bikes and four-wheelers with his boys, golfing, camping, fishing, woodworking, bowling and dancing with Renée. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan. Jim just liked anything that had to do with the old “cowboy” style of life. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jim will be missed greatly by all those who loved him.

Living family members include his wife, Renée of Charles City; two sons: Wesley (Amy) Waechter of Charles City and Kyle Waechter (Ashley Wille) of Marengo; daughter from a previous marriage, Laycee Jae of Montana; step-son, Joshua Zubrod (Andrea Madison) of Arizona; 10 grandchildren; father and step-mother, Jack (Alice) Waechter of Cheyenne, Wyoming; step-father, Dick Wolfe of Payson, Arizona and sister, Lori (Todd) Ebbesen of Longmont, Colorado.

Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn Wolfe and his grandparents.
