Charles “Chuck” Gray, 63, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, and formerly Charles City, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at his home.
A funeral service for Chuck Gray will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 9, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Sister Diana Blong officiating. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City at a later date.
Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church before the service.
Charles “Chuck” John Gray, the son of Selmer and Dolores (Swehla) Gray, was born July 28, 1956 in Charles City, Iowa. He received his education in Charles City, graduating from Charles City High School in 1974. After graduation, Chuck worked at Allied Construction for a few years before attending Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo receiving his Associates Degree.
Chuck was united in marriage to Brenda Sterk on November 24, 1979 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple was blessed with two children, Brandon and Melissa, and made their home in Charles City before moving to Cedar Falls in 1987. Chuck worked at K&P Pattern in Waterloo for 18 years as a pattern maker and at American Pattern in Cedar Falls for 13 years before retiring on July 27, 2017.
Chuck attended church at Prairie Lakes Church in Cedar Falls and loved fishing. He enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Chuck will be missed greatly by all those he touched in his life.
Living family members include his wife Brenda of Cedar Falls; son, Brandon (Li Li) Gray of Waukee; daughter, Melissa Gray of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren: Maddox and Sloane Gray; sister, Bonnie (Leonard) Tegtmeier; brother, Larrie (Connie) Gray of Winnebago, Minnesota; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Christie Rinn.
