Services for Mrs. Hoy set for Thursday
Mrs. Kathryne Ann Hoy, age 83, widow of James N. Hoy, died Monday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the Floyd County Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. Mrs. Hoy has been a patient at the Chautauqua Guest Home for four years. Mrs. Hoy is a lifelong resident of this area.
Kathryne Ann Herald was born January 30, 1884, at Marble Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Barnard and Kathryne Gates Herald. She attended school at Marble Rock and on Sept. 26, 1911, married James H. Hoy here in Charles City. Mrs. Hoy was a member of the First Methodist Church.
Surviving is one son, Harold LaBayre of Floyd of a previous marriage, two daughters, Mrs. Galen (Lucinda) Belknap and Mrs. Neil (Rozella) Osborn both of Charles City and four sons, Calvin, and Marvin both of Charles City, Bernard of Nashua and Donald of Floyd. Also surviving is a stepson Merle of Waseca, Minn., twenty-one grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and twenty-one step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1959, her parents, three sisters, one brother and two stepsons, Marion and James Hoy.
Funeral services are tentatively set for Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at the Hauser Funeral Home. The Rev. Fred G. Samek, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church at Floyd will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
