Died Alone in Bed.
C. D. Merriam, the city clerk of Charles City, was found dead in bed last Monday morning. He retired at 11 o’clock the evening previous, and it is assumed that heart failure visited him with fatal results. He was 66 years of age, and had been a prominent citizen for years.
