Loretta K. Park was born December 30, 1921, in Marble Rock, Iowa. She was the youngest of five daughters of Nick and Susie (Heinz) Krapp. She graduated from Sheffield High School in 1939.

Loretta taught in a one room country school for several years. She was united in marriage to Roy Park November 13, 1943, at Scared Heart Catholic Church in Rockwell. Loretta worked hard as a farmer's wife, growing vegetables, and beautiful flowers. She sold sweet corn for years.

Loretta's greatest joy in life was her large family. She enjoyed her flowers and garden, froze and canned her vegetables. She was an avid reader, often making it difficult to find any mystery books she had not already read! She also enjoyed circle words books and puzzles. She was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church. Her family continually was amazed by her strong will and sharp mind, continuing up to just this past week when she was diagnosed with a liver aliment. She looked forward to visits and phone calls from family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, and her sisters Helen, Thelma, Marcella, and Cecilia, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Those left to cherish the memories are her seven children, Terry (Cheryl) Park of Slidell, LA, Steven (Oil) Park of Phuket, Thailand, Loralyn (Randy) Bertelsen of Mason City, Randy (Barbara) Park of Clear Lake, Linda (Jim) Jenson of Rockwell, Lanette (Eldon) Trebil of Plymouth, Dave (Roma) Park of Phoenix AZ. Grandchildren Wendy Wood, Terry Park Jr., Carmel Ciko, Michael Park, Anne Marie Moody, Angele Kinberger, Brad Park, Brenda Brownell, Brittany Condellire, Chris Jenson, Miranda Wehr, Mathew and Marcus Trebil, Shauna and Taryn Park, Redar and Lady Park, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson.

The family would like to thank the Rockwell EMT's for the many times they helped out mom. Also, a special thanks to Kate, Shirley, Alan, and Sharon for their visits and assistance. Special thanks to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice, where our mom went just this past Wednesday afternoon. Lastly, Loretta would have wanted to thank her son-in-law, Jim Jenson, for all his assistance throughout the years; he literally saved her life in 2009.

In expression of sympathy, memorials may be made to the family in memory of Loretta Park.
