Death of J. P. North of Charles city.

Mr. William Martin went to Charles City Saturday, where he was called by the death of Mrs. Martin's brother, Mr. J. P. North. Mrs. Martin had been attending her brother for several weeks.

The Daily Herald says Julius P. North, one of the old settlers of Floyd county, died last night at 12 10 o'clock after an illness of some few weeks, his death being expected almost from the time of his confinement th his home.

Mr. North was born in Angelica county, N. Y., Jan 1, 1834. His parents were natives of Vermont, while, his grandfather was from England. His brother from Illinois and a sister from Chickasaw county, Mrs. Martin have been at his bedside during his last illness.

Mr. North was married to Carrie Whitbeck at Jackson Junction, Jan 26, 1858, and has been a member of the M. E. church for over 40 years. He came to Charles City with his family in 1864 and has been in active hardware business here ever since until his recent illness. His wife and four children survive him.
