Darrell Lewis 'Dutch' Kingery

January 2, 1923 - February 20, 2018

GREENE - Funeral Services for Darrell 'Dutch' Kingery, 95, of Greene, will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Greene with Pastor Ann Donat officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Greene, with Military Honors conducted by Tack- Barnett Post 268 American Legion of Greene.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m.- 10:30 a.m., Saturday, at the church.

Darrell was born on January 2, 1923, the son of Darrell William and Osea Pluma (Hesalroad) Kingery and died at the Valley View Care Center in Greene on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He attended public school graduating from Marble Rock High School in 1940.

Following graduation Darrell worked with his father on the family farm. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943. He was honorably discharged in 1946 after being stationed in the Pacific. He was so proud to be included in an Honor Flight several years ago.

When he returned from the service he continued farming and later drove semi, drove a milk truck and worked for Oliver White.

Darrell was united in marriage to Marjorie Lucas in 1946. This union was blessed with three children. In 1972 he married Maxine Jorges. Darrell lived in Nashua from 1972 until 2008 when he moved to Greene. He remained in his home until January 2014 when he moved to Valley View Care Center.

Darrell and Maxine liked to square dance and they loved camping and traveling. They camped in Mississippi in the winter and at Gates Bridge in the summer.

He was proud to be a member of Tack-Barnett Post 268 American Legion of Greene. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Nashua and attended the Plainfield Baptist Church.

Living family members include his wife, Maxine of Greene; son Jim (Peggy) Kingery, Moscow, Idaho; daughters Lynn (Neil) Wedeking of Marble Rock and Nancy (Denny) Osborn of Janesville; grandchildren: Jamie (Angela) Kingery, Kris (Brian) Loterbaur, Kathie (Mark) Lehmann, Mary Ann (Dave) Krull, Lori (Bill) Woolm, Will (Natalie) Wedeking, Brad (Shelly) Osborn, Bethany (Jeremy) Heidemann; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; sister Ethel McNutt; brother Keith Kingery.
