Alice Mabel Stayner, 88, of Mason City, Iowa, and formerly of Rockford, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St SE, Mason City. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am with a one hour prior visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S Kentucky Ave., Mason City. Burial will follow at Flood Creek Cemetery in Rockford.

Alice Mabel Stayner

December 31, 1928 - December 20, 2017

MASON CITY, IOWA - Alice Mabel Stayner, 88, of Mason City and formerly of Rockford, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St SE, Mason City. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am with a one hour prior visitation on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Faith Baptist Church, 1807 S Kentucky Ave, Mason City. Pastor Tim Moore will be officiating. Burial will follow at Flood Creek Cemetery in Rockford.

Alice was born on December 31, 1928, in Rockford, to Erwin and Mabel (Pfundheller) Duesenberg. On March 1, 1953 she was united in marriage to Raymond Stayner at Floyd Creek Methodist Church in Rockford. Alice was a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery and making rugs on the loom for family and friends, and which she sold at Engine Club Shows. Alice also enjoyed gardening and canning.

Alice was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Mason City where she was a Sunday school teacher, assisted with bible school at other churches and sang in the Faith Baptist choir. She especially enjoyed participating in the Old Faithful and Teen's Coffee House groups at church Alice was also involved with many women's church groups and the Cedar Valley Engine Club. If Alice could watch sports 24 hours a day she would. Her favorites were the Minnesota Vikings and Twins baseball teams. She was a Hawkeye fan and then added the Iowa State University when part of her family attended there. When they played each other she rooted more for the Hawkeyes than ISU.

Above all else, her highest priority was always caring for and raising her family.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Bonnie (Kent) Mason, Dean Stayner, Diana Stayner, Nancy Weide and Richard Stayner; 11 grandchildren, Tricia Folkestad, Susanne Krause, Michelle Banker, Julie Stayner, Jason Stayner, Kristine Turner, Elizabeth Pala, Justin Stotts, Barbara Goetz, Christopher and Samantha Stayner; 12 great-grandchildren, Laurie Stayner and Rylan, Connor, and Baron Stotts, Mason, Zuriah, Ezekiel and Azaleah Krause, Isaac, Silas and River Banker, and Alicia Folkestad.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Stayner; parents, Erwin and Mabel Duesenberg.
