FULLER FUNERAL TODAY AT 2 p.m.

Funeral services for Paul Fuller, resident of Nora Springs, will be held today (Thursday) at 2 p.m., at the Sheckler Funeral Home, Rev. Amedee Fredett of Saint Luke Lutheran Church officiating.

Paul Fuller died Monday, Aug. 1, 1966, in a Mason City hospital at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 15 days. He had been a patient there for several weeks and had undergone surgery on Sunday, Jul 31, which was fatal and brought a final end to [a---- and] many year of physical [and mental anguish ----------]. “suffering” handwritten.

Paul Fuller was born on Oct. 16, 1897, at the farm home near Mason City, in Owens Township. He was one of five children born to Eugene Bell Fuller and Elizabeth Rex. The family moved to Rockford when a young boy and he attended school in that community, where they lived for several years.

He was married to Ocea Mae Piper on Oct. 21, 1920 at Buffalo, N. Dak. Five children were born to this union; four boys and one girl. He lived in the vicinity of Rudd and Rockford until 1944 when he moved to Nora Springs where the family made their home ever since.

Mr. Fuller spent most of his life as a general laborer, and worked for the Oliver Corporation at Charles City; also worked on farm lands, and did other several dutiful employment during life.
Mr. Fuller was a veteran of World War I, a member of the American Legion HDS Post 449 of Nora Springs, and a member of the Veterans Organization of World War I in Charles City.

He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 7, 1946; by a son, Edward Marion, who died in the service of his country on May 31, 1944; by both parents; a brother, John; two sisters, Tryphena Fuller and Sophia Brewer; and a grand-daughter, Linda Lee Straube in 1947.

Mr. Fuller was [again] married to Nettie Melissa Flint on March 3, 1951 at Redfield, S. Dak., who remains to mourn his departure, with his children and relatives: three sons, Gerald, of St. Paul, Minn.; twin boys, Charles, who is now with the Air Force at Alexandria, La.; and Walter of Merrill, Iowa; daughter, Mrs. Glen Straube, known as Naomi, of Nora Springs; a sister, Mrs. D. Wayne Langenhagen of Mason City; a half brother, Emmett of Marion, Iowa. He also has six grandchildren, several nephews and nieces, other relatives, friends and neighbors.

Interment was in park Cemetery, when military rites will be conducted by the American Legion, Post 449, of Nora Springs.

Casket bearers were Gordon Brierly, Leonard Bellows, F.L. Sherman, Lloyd Ondersen, Derald Hoel and Wayne Ervay. Mrs. Bud Eliason was soloist, accompanied by Vera Shanks.

Following the interment, the ladies of the Evangelical United Brethren Church will serve refreshments at the church
