Mrs. W. W. Johnson Dies; Rites Tuesday

Charles City: Funeral services will be held at the Hauser funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. W. W. Johnson, 67, of Riverton Township, who died in Cedar Valley hospital here Saturday night at 8 o’clock, where she had been a patient for 4 days. Death was caused by complications of goiter and heart trouble.

The Rev. Walter M. Fritschel, pastor of the St. John Lutheran church will officiate and interment will be in Riverside cemetery.

Note: Helena “Lena” (Birkholz) Johnson, was born in Floyd County, Iowa in 1877 to parents William and Sophia Birkholz. She married Ward W. Johnson, a local farmer in 1903. They had two daughters, Hazel and Clara
