Ruth Maxine (Fisher) Miller was born March 1, 1928 to Walter and Nellie Mae (Carle) Fisher in Bradford, Iowa. She attended school first in Bradford, then later on in Nashua. On July 2, 1945 Ruth was united in marriage to Garold George Miller. To this union seven children were born.

Ruth was a true homemaker who loved to care for her farm and her family. Her family will always remember her cooking and baking, especially: bread, fried bread dough, homemade milk noodles, chicken noodle soup, and her own unique salmon soup. She also enjoyed canning with her good friend and companion David Rodamaker.

When she wasn't on the farm, Ruth loved to attend high school girls' softball games, and taking vacations with her family to Lake George, Minnesota. She loved music and time spent with children; always saying, "Enjoy them now because they grow up too fast."

Her favorite children to spend time with were her grandkids who all have special memories of fishing with grandma. Ruth also had a tradition with her son Hal; breakfast together every Saturday morning, something she always looked forward to and he will dearly miss.

Ruth is survived by her children: Kathleen (Roger) Kellogg, Daniel (Lana) Miller, Dennis (Carol) Miller, Gloria (Charles) Kolbet, Hal (Sharon) Miller, Joseph (Lisa) Miller, and Marc Miller; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and sister: Virginia (Don) Ackerson
