MASON CITY — Wilma J. Stromley, 76, of Mason City, IA, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m. with a time of sharing at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave..

Wilma was born Aug. 30, 1940, in Evansville, IN, the daughter of Joe and Marjorie (Liffick) Kingston. She attended school in Ohio. On Dec. 12, 1964, Wilma was united in marriage to Rodney M. Stromley in Long Beach, CA. They returned to Mason City to raise their seven children. She and her husband owned The Gopher Hole in Nora Springs, IA, where she enjoyed spending time with her many friends. Wilma loved spending time with her family. She also loved crocheting, cooking, shooting pool, singing karaoke and listening to music (old songs). She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 9966 where she served as president. Wilma also believed in finding a cure for cancer and participated in “Jump for Cancer.” On multiple occasions she jumped out an airplane to support the cause.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2016; 3 siblings: Eddie Kaduce, Georgia Shepherd and Wayne Kingston; and brother-in-law: Wayne Stromley.
