Edna Marie Pyle was born January 6, 1919 to Roy and Laura (Wallbaum) Horr in Rockwell City, Iowa. She graduated from Floyd High School in 1937.
Marie married Elden Pyle and to this union three children were born. The couple later divorced. Marie always thought of Floyd Grace United Methodist Church as her home church, and enjoyed attending functions there.
Marie was a dedicated homemaker who took pride in keeping an immaculate house. She cooked, baked, and canned; using ingredients from her home garden whenever possible. Marie was very driven and independent. She had a sharp mind for crossword puzzles and playing cards, particularly solitaire. Whenever Marie had visitors she always offered them a piece of candy from her dish.
Despite having macular degeneration she continued to live in her own home. She was very hospitable and loved when family visited. Family meant the world to her, especially when grandchildren visited.
Marie is survived by her children: Carol (Steve) Egan of Texas/Iowa, Gerald (Anna May "Ann") Pyle of Charles City, Douglas (Marie) Pyle of Lewisville, Texas; nine grandchildren: Sheila, Roxanne, Victoria, Nicole, Jody, Julie Victoria, Ron, and Kevin; 14 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister in infancy; and sister: Doris Brown
