Curtis "Curt" Olson, 75, of Charles City, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the 11th Street Chautauqua Guest Home in Charles City with his loving family by his side.

A funeral Mass for Curt Olson will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Charles City with Reverend Gary Mayer celebrating the Mass. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Charles City.

Visitation will be held at Hauser Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016, and will continue one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Wednesday at the church.

Curtis Arthur Olson, the first born of Elby and Florence (Stroud) Olson, was born October 25, 1940 in Pomeroy, Iowa. He received his education at a country school in Pomeroy, later graduating as Valedictorian from Pocahontas High School. Curt furthered his college education by attending AIB College in Des Moines, Iowa graduating as a Certified Public Accountant.

Curt met Mary Ann Vodraska at the drug store in Pocahontas, Iowa. The couple later married on June 8, 1963. This union was blessed with a daughter, Lynn Marie and a son, John Curtis. They made their home in Marion, Iowa where Curt was a CPA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Later, the family moved to Charles City, Iowa where Curt worked as a CPA at Burke-Saunders & Co., and later for Larry Pump, CPA.

Curt was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Kiwanis, Izaak Walton League, Knights of Columbus, Heart to Home Hospice, Elks, a card club and a bowling league. He was very well known in the community. Curt, along with his wife and family, loved to go camping, boating, motorcycle riding and bowling. Later in life, he and Mary Ann travelled on the Heritage Club bus tours.

Living family members include his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann of Charles City; daughter, Lynn (Andy) Rice of Little Cedar; son, John (Toni) Olson of Charles City; four grandchildren: Eric Bremer, Stacey (Kalen) Fisher, Stephanie Bremer (Fiancé Corey Schmidt) and Jolie Olson; one great-granddaughter, Kyrah Fisher; three step-grandchildren: Jonathan, Alan and Jason Rice of Austin, Minnesota; two brothers: Dennis (Linda) Olson of Fort Dodge and Keith Olson of Des Moines; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth Olson; and sister-in-law, Suzanne Olson.
