Obituary for Mildred Hoeft

Mildred Hoeft, 100, of Charles City, Iowa, died Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 11th St Chautauqua Guest Homes. Per her wishes she was cremated and a private family graveside service will be held at a later date at Sunnyside Memory Garden.

Mildred (Knolke) Hoeft was born October 6, 1915 in Gilmore City, Iowa, to Grace and Fred Knolke. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1934.

On June 19, 1940 Mildred was united in marriage to Raymond Hoeft at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Charles City. They farmed east of Charles City for 48 years before moving to town. The couple wintered in Stuart Florida for several winters, where Raymond passed away in 1988. Mildred enjoyed many years of volunteer work at The Food Box, Treasure Chest and being a Pink Lady at Floyd County Medical Center.

Those left to cherish her memory include several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond; two sisters, Violet and Lois; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Lenora Koebrick.
