JOHN PICKAR SUCCUMBS TO HEART ATTACK
Charles City – Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Immaculate conception Church, for John Pickar, 71. He suffered a fatal heart attack Monday afternoon while driving his car. The car was found at 5 p.m. upright in a ditch near the airport. Dr. W. C. Baltzell, coroner, was called to the scene. Hauser Funeral Home was in charge.
A resident of this community 15 years, he was employed at Dr. Salsbury’s Laboratories nine years. Recently he had been working part time at the YMCA.
He is survived by his wife, the former, Lena Haus; two sons, Patrick, Cedar Falls, and Joseph, Dysart; a daughter, Mrs.. Virgil Kane, Charles City; two sisters, Mamie Wischer, North Washington, and Elizabeth Goebel, Charles City; four brothers, William, Wishram, Washington; Joe, Elma; and Eddie and Raymond, both of Ionia, and four grandchildren.
